BBC Radio Scotland

John and Nancy are due to be part of the “Sunday Morning With Ricky Ross” show on BBC Radio Scotland this weekend.

Tune in on your radio (92-95 FM, DAB or 810 MW) or online. The show is on Sunday 21st August from 7am until 9am.

If you are not up that early this weekend it should (hopefully) be available for seven days afterwards on the BBC iPlayer: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b013n0zg

Update 21st Aug: The programme has aired and is now available via the BBC iPlayer link above, as anticipated. John and Nancy can be heard at about 44 minutes in.

Walkers traipse towards closing?

Well, they are almost there. After several months of hard toil, there are only a few weeks until it is complete. Those of us following their progress will soon know the final result.

No, not the walking… the scrabble! Yes, after reading the “Week 18 Statistics” in Nancy’s latest post I realised that John might be catching up with the scrabble games at last (having won that week 5-1).

But, as Dave Gorman used to ask, what has it done to the graph?

So by my reckoning Nancy is now only one game ahead of John. I also pointed out that John has never been in the lead yet! John replied that, “winning athletes always leave their winning burst of strength until the last length.” We await the tense conclusion!

Here are some seven letter words for their inspiration: Walkers = 14 points; Traipse = 9 points; Towards = 11 points; Closing = 10 points.

LEJOG donation news

The appeal for the farming and clean water project in Sierra Leone has reached its £10,000 target. This is wonderful news and we thank very very much all those who have generously given donations, sponsoring us on our Land’s End to John o’Groats walk, so that this has been achieved.

Donations are still coming in and money over and above the £10,000 already given will still go to Sierra Leone. This money will go to help the medical project there sponsored by Christian Aid. This project is also match funded by the European Commission (3:1). Click here for further information on the project.
